Charu Pragya is an interdisciplinary researcher at the intersection of Sociology, Philosophy and Science and Technology Studies. Charu manages the Digital Society program at Transitions Research. Her work explores how technological, cultural and environmental developments will shape the lives of workers and the future of work. Charu is particularly interested in understanding how non-standard employment will be transformed by emerging 4IR technologies. Her current research includes technology-mediated work and platformization, algorithmic managerial and surveillance technologies, and the effect of 4IR on labor conditions and social security legislation areas. She holds a Masters in Philosophy from Columbia University and a Bachelors in Philosophy from Delhi University.
